[Mexico is a gorgeous and astonishing place.]
November 3rd, 2018
Peter Hartmeier is in third semester and from Switzerland. Nowadays, he is an exchange student in UPAEP in the International Business major, he is taking marketing, Europe studies, Latin-American Business and Spanish courses.
Peter mentioned that he chose Mexico as his exchange country because he was looking forward to being as far away from his own nation and even though he only knew what he saw on the internet, he was sure that one of the main reasons why he wanted to be on Aztec land, was the food.
In Switzerland, he knows some places where Mexican food is being sold; however, he wanted to taste the real one and since he is been here, there are many dishes he loves but among his favorites, tacos and gringas are the best.
“It is big, beautiful, amazing, more that I could even expect. Compare to what I googled, it went beyond my expectations” said Peter.
Before he came here, he kind of knew there was going to be a warm place with fun and nice people; nevertheless, he never thought that Mexicans were so friendly and cool.
When it comes to our University, he loves all the sport variety that UPAEP has to offer and because of its locations, he can easily go and come back home.
This experience has also made him more independent, better in Spanish and got more information about Mexico’s culture.
“One of the things that marked me was the big earthquake in September; I saw many people got together to support others. It was touching to see everybody gathering around just to help.”
While he has been in Mexico, he traveled to places like Puerto Escondido and Mexico City; therefore, he is thinking about coming back in the future just to relive those memories and get to know other places that are not so close from Puebla and that he has not been able to sight-see.
“I totally recommend UPAEP because the campus is great; courses are good, you learn a lot and have great experiences. The language is not a problem even if your Spanish is not good because professors are always kind and have the patience to teach you; they also manage to adjust to you so we can understand better. At the beginning, since my Spanish was so basic, it was hard; but since time goes by, now it is easier to communicate and adapt.”
